Marla H. Crockett, BSN, MBA

Marla assists healthcare organizations through collaborating on creating value through strategic planning, organizational restructuring and integrating data and information technology into solutions. She has over thirty years of healthcare and management consulting experience. She published numerous articles on ambulatory care redesign, using data to drive improvements in the ambulatory care environment and organizational restructuring. She has also been a contributing author on two award winning books published through HIMSS; “Beyond Return on Investment: Expanding the Value of Healthcare Information Technology,” and Rethinking ROI: The Challenge of Accountable Meaningful Use.

Prior to founding Hutchison Healthcare Consulting, Marla was a partner with Deloitte Consulting in the Houston, TX healthcare practice. Marla also has prior experience as a senior nursing executive with Humana, Inc., Managing Director: Care Transformation with Maestro Strategies and the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of “the MediStore.”

Marla holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Kansas and a Master of Business degree from the University of Houston. She has conducted numerous national and international speaking engagements on current trends and topics in healthcare including ambulatory care model transformation, surgical services transformation, the role of informatics in designing a collaborative approach to cancer care and the emerging e-healthcare consumer.
