About Amy

Amy Sandusky is a certified Physician Assistant (PA) with Gunnison Valley Orthopedics.   Amy has worked as an orthopedic specialist since 2009 and in 2015 achieved a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ)  in Orthopedics.  As an orthopedic PA she evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients in the clinic and ER settings.   She also assists the orthopedic surgeons with surgery and is an integral team member in the preoperative and postoperative periods.

Amy is an orthopedic expert, able to perform physical exams, xrays, therapeutic injections, treat acute orthopedic injuries such as fractures and provides postoperative care and and ongoing care for chronic orthopedic conditions.

Amy is a Gunnison valley home grown medical practitioner.  Soon after her arrival in the Gunnison valley in 1993 she was certified as an EMT and volunteered with EMS while working the usual ski bum jobs at the photo lab, restaurants and landscaping.  She worked at a base area clinic as an EMT and this is where her future started to take shape.   In 2002, upon starting her PA program at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana her main goal was to return to the Gunnison Valley with employment as a PA  and the second goal was to work in orthopedics.  She met the first goal right away and worked in primary and urgent care for the first five years of her career.   In 2009 she met the second goal when she was honored to join Dr. Beim's orthopedic practice.
