Shandy Kibler Named Administrator of the Year by the Colorado Activity Professionals’ Association

Gunnison Valley Health (GVH) announced that Shandy Kibler, GVH Senior Care Center Administrator, was named Administrator of the Year by the Colorado Activity Professionals’ Association (CAPA). According to CAPA, the award is presented to an administrator who has consistently given support to activities in a facility, has supported the promotion of a better quality of life for the residents, supported continuing education and the professionalism of the activity professional in his/her facility and demonstrated an understanding of the value of activities in the improvement of the quality of life for residents.

Gunnison Valley Health Vice President of Operations, Wade Baker, expressed his congratulations and appreciation.

“Shandy is an incredible leader and an asset to Gunnison Valley Health,” Baker said. “Shandy has devoted many years to supporting the health and well-being of our residents, supporting each person with tremendous respect and caring. I am honored to have the opportunity to continue supporting her as a leader and congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition.”

Kibler has been a part of Gunnison Valley Health for 15 years with much of that time dedicated to roles at the Senior Care Center. Kibler stepped into the role of assistant administrator of the Senior Care Center in 2023. Recently she completed her licensure and is now overseeing operations as the administrator.

Kibler was nominated by her colleagues at the Senior Care Center who expressed their appreciation of her leadership and dedication to the residents of the Senior Care Center. In part the nomination read, “Shandy has dedicated most of her career caring for residents and her transition into the administrator role has been inspirational. She creates a safe and professional environment that focuses on staying true to supporting our residents. The gift of her time and talent is noticed by all. We are truly fortunate to have Shandy as our administrator.”
