New Health Leaders on Board


GVH Welcomes finance, HR and marketing execs

Gunnison Valley Health has recruited two health care leaders in marketing and finance and has promoted an HR professional to lead human resources.

David Freshour has joined the team as chief financial officer, Michelle Campbell as chief marketing and business development officer and Christina Zibelli will be serving as interim director of human resources.

“We are honored to welcome David, Michelle and Christina to Gunnison Valley Health’s executive team,” said Randy Phelps, GVH’s CEO. “I look forward to adding their experience to that of the very capable executives we already have on board.”

Freshour brings 25 years of experience in health care finance for small and large health systems in more than six states. His most recent experience was with San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa.

Originally from Ohio, Freshour holds a dress in business administration from Ohio State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Campbell, who joined GVH in mid-October, brings more than 17 years of experience in health care marketing as a consultant and senior administrative leader – including 10 years a vice president with Presbyterian Health Care Services in Albuquerque.

In her role with GVH, Campbell will lead marketing and communications as well as develop new services and physician practices. Campbell and her husband have owned a home in Gunnison since 2005.

Zibelli joined the GVH human resources staff in January 2010 with a master’s degree in business administration and a professional certification in human resources.

The new leaders join with Chief Operating Officer Betsy Bair, Chief Nursing Officer Carol Kennedy, Chief Medical Officer John Tarr and Senior Services Administrator Wade baker in supporting the 300 staff and 50 physicians dedicated to improving individual and community health in Gunnison County.

Gunnison Valley Health has recruited two health care leaders in marketing and finance and has promoted an HR Professional to lead human resources. David Freshour has joined the team as chief financial officer, Michelle Campbell as chief marketing and business development officer, and Christina Zibelli as interim director of human resources.

This new team will be dedicated to enhancing the health system's ability to meet community needs through effective and efficient management of the county's health resources."
 
David Freshour joins GVH with 25 years of extensive experience in healthcare finance for small and large health systems in more than six states. His most recent experience was with San Luis Valley regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colo. Originally from Ohio, Freshour holds a degree in business administration with a major in accounting from Ohio State University and is a certified public accountant. Throughout his career he has held a number of senior leadership roles in finance. In addition to his deep financial background, Freshour is experienced in information technology system conversions and supply chain management.
 
Michelle Campbell, GVH chief marketing and business development officer, joined GVH in mid-October. Campbell brings more than 17 years of experience in healthcare marketing as a consultant and senior administrative leader.
 
Originally from New Mexico, Campbell worked with Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque for 14 years, where she served as their vice president for ten years. The Presbyterian system includes an employed medical group, a health plan, two large hospitals in Albuquerque and five smaller hospitals in rural New Mexico communities. In her role with GVH, Campbell will lead marketing and communications as well as develop new services and physician practices. Campbell and her husband have owned a ho9me in Gunnison since 2005.
 
Christina Zibelli has also recently been appointed to the position of interim director of human resources for GVH. Zibelli joined the GVH human resources staff in January 2010 with a degree in business management concentrating on human resource management, a master's degree in business administration, and a professional in human resources certification. While serving as interim director of HR, Zibelli will handle GVH human resource functions and services as well as collaborating with the GVH marketing department to enact communication initiatives within the health system.
 
The new leaders join with COO Betsy Bair, chief nursing officer Carol Kennedy, chief medical officer John Tarr, M.D., and senior services administrator Wade Baker in supporting the 200 staff and 50 physicians dedicated to improving individual and community health in Gunnison County.
