Gunnison Valley Hospital

Hospice volunteers assist staff members in providing optimal care for those needing extra support in our community or who are nearing the end of their life. Volunteers are key to the success of Gunnison Valley Health Hospice & Palliative Care.

Our trained volunteers are individually assigned to patients as requested by the family/patient. The volunteer provides whatever kind of companionship the patient may need, such as listening, reading to the patient or just visiting and holding a hand.

How Can You Help?

As a volunteer, there are many opportunities to share time, knowledge and skills. Hospice & Palliative Care holds numerous events, fundraisers and volunteer opportunities throughout the year; we welcome participation at any and/or all of the following:
  • Direct Patient Care
  • End of Life Care
  • Respite for Caregiver

  • Educational Seminars
  • Hospice Remembrance Garden
