Who is this test for?
This test is for people who
do not have any COVID-19 symptoms and may need the test for work or travel. Please
note, testing requirements for travel vary depending on travel destination
and airline. Prior to coming in and paying for testing, please check with
your airline or travel carrier to ensure that a self-swab PCR test meets
How can I get the test?
This walk-in test (no appointment required) is available Monday to Friday
from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m. Come to the main entrance of the Gunnison Valley
Health Hospital at 711 N. Taylor Street in Gunnison. Check in with admissions
staff to receive the patient information form, make a payment and receive
the collection kit.
Do I need a doctor's order?
Where can I obtain my collection kit?
Collection kits are available from reception staff at the main entrance
of the hospital Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m.
Do not go to the drive through collection site.
What is a self-swab test?
Once you pick up the test, you will be provided with a set of instructions
to easily swab inside your nostrils. Please be prepared to take the test
the same day you pick up the collection kit.
How much does the test cost?
The self-swab COVID test costs $150 and payment is due when you pick up
your collection kit via cash or credit card. The fee covers the cost of
Mayo Clinic to process the results.
Will Gunnison Valley Health bill my insurance?
No, the test is a cash pay test only. However, you are more than welcome
to claim the test back through your insurance if your insurance accepts
this type of test.
When can I get my results?
Results may be processed as quickly as 48 hours but can take several days.
On average, test results are available between 72 and 96 hours from when
Mayo Clinic reviews your test.
Where can I view my results?
You will receive an email to sign up to Gunnison Valley Health's patient
portal. Your test results will be available in the portal. You can either
screen shot the results or request a hard copy through Gunnison Valley
Health's Health Information Records department at 970-641-7257.
