Hospice Care
Supporting Hospice Care in the Gunnison Valley
Hospice is all about family and relationships.
Since Gunnison Valley Health Hospice & Palliative Care opened, we’ve
helped hundreds of families through the final phase of a loved one’s
life. These families include your neighbors down the street and members
of the community. Today, as the only nonprofit hospice serving the Gunnison
Valley, we care for patients in Gunnison, Crested Butte, Almont, Parlin,
Pitkin, Ohio City, Sargents, Powderhorn, Lake City, Sapinero and parts
of Saquache County.
Hospice care is designed to provide comfort and support for those who are
facing a life-limiting illness. It is a compassionate form of caring that
promotes dignity and affirms quality of life for the patient, family members
and their loved ones. Our specialized team of Hospice professionals works
with the patient, family and attending physician to develop a plan of
care that will best meet the patient's individual needs. Services
include palliative care, pain and symptom management, psychological support,
medical social work and spiritual/pastoral support.
