Personalized Support of Your Brain Health

Our concussion experts work collaboratively with local providers to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of post-concussion symptoms.

A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury in which a bump, blow or jolt to the head or body causes the head to move rapidly back and forth. This sudden movement can result in stretching or damage of the nerve cells in the brain. Due to the complexity of the brain, symptoms following a concussion can vary widely from balance problems and headaches, to mood disturbances and difficulty thinking.

Rehabilitation following a concussion can aide in enhancing understanding of the injury and significantly reduce symptoms, enabling a faster return to normal life. Returning to activity too soon, or sustaining another head injury prior to fully healing can have a huge impact on long term brain health.

We offer:

  • Baseline and post-injury computerized neurocognitive testing (ImPACT Test)
  • Thorough examination including cognitive, vestibular, oculomotor, cervical and exertional testing
  • Extensive patient and family education regarding the nature of concussions and strategies to optimize healing
  • Graded activity progression with symptom/physiologic monitoring
  • Guided progression along graduated return to play protocols and formal clearance for youth athletes to return to play
  • Treatment strategies for healing and return to learning/return to work
  • Strategies to improve concussion-related sleep problems, decrease visual motion sensitivity, reduce headaches, improve tolerance of sensory input and facilitate optimal return to prior activities
  • Improved coordination across the continuum of care, including referral recommendation to additional specialists as indicated

We live in an active community and the activities we participate in can easily lead to concussions. We are committed to leading the way in awareness, prevention and treatment of concussions to keep all of us active and able to do the things we love.

We accept most major insurance carriers and many services can be accessed without a prescription or referral.
