Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO®) is an evidence-based, interprofessional, multidisciplinary training program that equips the entire pregnancy care team with skills to effectively manage obstetric emergencies. This comprehensive course encourages a standardized team-based approach among physicians, residents, nurse midwives, registered nurses and other members of the pregnancy care team to improve patient safety and positively affect maternal outcomes. 

Day 1 Certified ALSO® Provider Course (June 2) - 6.5 CME

Core Topics Include:

• Shoulder Dystocia*
• Postpartum Hemorrhage*
• Malpresentations & Multiple Gestation*
• Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy*
• Intrapartum Fetal Surveillance
• Trauma, Cardiac Complications & Sepsis in Pregnancy

Day 2 Advanced OB Skills Lab (June 3) - 7.5 CME

Core Topics Include:

• C-section techniques + uterine closure on beef heart models
• 4th-degree perineal laceration repair
• Bladder & bowel injury repair techniques
• Vacuum-assisted delivery (advanced)
• Ultrasound in problem first trimester pregnancies

Day 1 & 2 - ALSO + 14.0 CME
