Gunnison Valley Health (GVH) welcomed families from across the valley to Cookies & Cocoa with Santa at the new Mary & Jack Blake Family EMS Station, celebrating both the holiday season and a major milestone for community safety.
Families enjoyed hot cocoa, tea, cookies and time with Santa inside the new state-of-the-art EMS station. The event allowed community members to see the space and take the time to recognize the impact of the GVH Foundation’s Seconds Save Lives Campaign, that made this facility possible with the help of 637 community donors. Their support allowed the building of the multimillion-dollar EMS facility that improves 911 response times, strengthens emergency care, and supports patient safety across a 4,400-square-mile service area the EMS team responds to.
As the only community-owned health system in Gunnison County, GVH is committed to delivering care close to home while staying connected to the people we serve. Opening the EMS station to the community this holiday season highlighted the essential role of emergency medical services and the strong partnerships that make rural healthcare work.
GVH is grateful to everyone who joined the celebration and to the donors whose generosity helped make this lifesaving resource possible.
