Gunnison Valley Health has been named one of the “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” by Becker’s Hospital Review for 2025, joining a national list of organizations recognized for outstanding workplace culture, employee engagement and mission-driven leadership.
The annual list highlights healthcare providers that go above and beyond to foster supportive, inclusive work environments. Gunnison Valley Health’s inclusion reflects its commitment to staff well-being and its belief that a strong workplace culture leads to better care for patients.
“We are honored to be recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review,” said Jason Amrich, CEO of Gunnison Valley Health. “This acknowledgment reflects the values we live by every day — fostering a culture of respect, collaboration and purpose, where our employees are empowered to thrive and make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.”
Gunnison Valley Health supports its team through a range of employee-focused initiatives, including tuition reimbursement, wellness programs, professional development opportunities and our Just Culture. The organization also conducts regular employee forums, gathers feedback through engagement surveys and celebrates excellence through peer-nominated awards.
“GVH is a place where employees can feel seen and empowered to grow,” said Quincy Knight, director of human resources. “Our people are the reason we’re able to fulfill our mission. We are deeply committed to creating a workplace where every individual feels supported by GVH’s strong workplace culture, as well as the benefits, wellbeing, and educational programs we offer.”
This recognition comes as Gunnison Valley Health continues to expand services and invest in long-term growth. Recent milestones include the launch of the Epic electronic health record system through a partnership with UCHealth, and the planned acquisition of orthopedic clinics and an ambulatory surgery center to better serve the region.
As the only community-owned health system in Gunnison County, Gunnison Valley Health remains focused on building a healthy future by supporting its team, expanding access to care and strengthening the connection between employees, patients and the community.
