Janine Pleau, MS,ATC

About Janine

Janine Pleau begins her 16th year as an athletic trainer for Western Athletics. Beginning in the 2006-07 season, Pleau has dedicated her professional career to the health and well-being of Western student-athletes. She served as the assistant athletic trainer from 2006-18 before being promoted to Head Athletic Trainer prior to the start of the 2018-19 school year. 

The Chester, California, native came to Western after spending a year as head trainer at both Ignacio and Bayfield High Schools in the Durango area. Pleau also served as assistant trainer for Fort Lewis College during the 2005-06 school year, and for Adams State University from Jan. 2004 to May 2005.

Pleau received her bachelor of arts degree from Fort Lewis in 2003 and received her master's degree from Adams State in 2005.

Pleau played softball, volleyball and basketball at College of the Siskiyous from 1997-99, and was a member of the Fort Lewis softball and volleyball teams.

As a prep at Chester High School, Pleau was a three-sport star, earning all-conference honors in softball and volleyball.
