Motoki Kamikura, MS,ATC

About Motoki

Motoki “Moto” Kamikura enters his fourth year as assistant athletic trainer for Western after starting in the fall of 2018.

His primary responsibility is coordination and daily operation of athletic training program for Mountaineer women’s soccer and wrestling teams.

Prior to arriving at Western, he was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at West Virginia Wesleyan College (Buckhannon, West Virginia). In June 2018, he earned his M.S. in Athletic Training from West Virginia Wesleyan College where he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for Notre Dame High School and Western Virginia Wesleyan's NCAA Division II Track and Field.

Additionally, Kamikura served as head athletic trainer for Colorado High School Boy’s Rugby State Select Team, and assistant athletic trainer at Cherry Creek High School (Greenwood Village, Colorado).

In May 2016, he received B.S. in Athletic Training from Metropolitan State University of Denver where he gained first-hand experience, working the 2016 RMAC Softball Tournament and volunteered his time for NCAA Division II Spring Festival 2016.

Kamikura has been a board certified athletic trainer since June 2016. He also has a BLS/CPR for Healthcare from American Red Cross.

Moto is from Tokyo, Japan.
