Your Health Insurance

Gunnison Valley Hospital bills all insurance companies on your behalf. Please provide us with accurate and timely information. The best way to ensure that we bill the correct insurance company is to provide a copy of the front and back of your insurance card.

Your health insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. As a service to you, Gunnison Valley Hospital will bill your insurance company; however, you are responsible for any charges not covered by your benefit plan.

We encourage you to verify your benefits and participate in the billing process so your claims are paid according to your insurance benefits.

Please note that we are not in-network with Humana at this time. If you have Humana insurance, we recommend verifying your coverage and benefits with your insurance provider before seeking services with us.

An insurance authorization is a process made by your insurance to check the reasoning behind a medical service. This includes imaging, surgery, medications, physical therapy and other treatment plans. It is sometimes called prior authorization, pre-notification or pre-certification. At Gunnison Valley Health, we submit the authorization to your insurance. Authorization can take anywhere from three days to fourteen days.
