Available Tests at the Crested Butte Blood Draw Event

Please note: Beginning in 2025, carotid artery screenings will no longer be offered at the Blood Draw event. This decision was made in collaboration with GVH medical staff and aligns with nationally recognized best practices.

While carotid artery scans may seem beneficial, they are not routinely recommended for people without symptoms or specific risk factors. In some cases, these scans can lead to false positives, unnecessary anxiety, or follow-up procedures that carry their own risks. If you are concerned about your stroke risk or vascular health, we encourage you to consult with your primary care provider to determine what screenings are appropriate for your individual needs.
