Gunnison Valley Health Seeks Volunteers for Women’s Health Focus Groups

Gunnison Valley Health is seeking community volunteers to participate in a series of focus groups related to women’s healthcare services. The focus groups are a continuation of the health system’s 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment and a component of the organization’s development of a new women’s health service line.

Gunnison Valley Health CEO, Jason Amrich, said the focus groups will help to better understand the specific needs of women in the valley.

“Women’s health was identified as a top priority by our community, and we want to better understand exactly what that means for women,” Amrich said. “Having the opportunity to hear directly from members of our community will help us ensure we are moving in the right direction.”

Gunnison Valley Health will host three focus groups designed to try and gather information about a wide range of women’s specific health needs. To ensure that that group participants are comfortable and the conversation is as productive as possible, group membership will be composed of women who share similar characteristics. The three major characteristics are women who have given birth to a child, post-menopausal women and women who have never given birth.

The focus groups will be limited to a small number in order to create the most comfortable environment possible. Women interested in participating in the groups are asked to complete a simple interest form and provide a little information about themselves.

If you have any questions about the focus groups, contact Gunnison Valley Health Marketing & Communications Director Joelle Ashley at jashley@gvh-colorado.org or 970-642-8417.
