Top 100 Hospital Eight Times!

Gunnison Valley Health has been recognized for the eighth year as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the United States by The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

Gunnison Valley Health’s CEO Rob Santilli said being nationally recognized as a top performing hospital eight times is no coincidence.

“This recognition demonstrates that Gunnison Valley Health is a strong performing hospital who consistently provides a high level of patient care matched with unparalleled quality standards,” said Mr. Santilli.

“We are very thankful to have talented physicians and staff who are committed to delivering exceptional care within our community,” he said.

The INDEX determines an overall score for each hospital by leveraging 50 rural-relevant indicators across eight pillars of hospital strength which include inpatient market share, outpatient market share, cost, charge, quality, outcomes, patient perspective and financial stability.

“This award is based on key industry measures such as quality, care outcomes and patient experience to objectively compare 1,380 critical access hospitals across the nation,” said Mr. Santilli.

“Recognized nationally in the top 100, not once but eight times, confirms our success factors are embedded in our work processes.”

National Leader of The Chartis Center for Rural Health Michael Topchik said in an era of increased complexity and uncertainty, top 100 hospitals have established themselves as a bellwether for rural provider performance.

“Top 100 status is a real indicator of how proactive these hospitals are when it comes to pushing for performance improvement in areas such as quality, outcomes, patient safety, market share and finance,” said Mr. Topchik.

“We are thrilled to be recognized for this award and equally pleased that our community will ultimately benefit from our superior performance,” said Mr. Santilli.
