Gunnison Valley Health Foundation presents "Spring Into Health" - a free community event

From noon to 2 p.m. on March 20, the Gunnison Valley Health Foundation will present “Spring Into Health” at Town Ranch in Crested Butte. This free community event is a wonderful way to celebrate the Spring Equinox while learning about the services available at Gunnison Valley Health.

Jenny Birnie, Executive Director of the Gunnison Valley Health Foundation, said that the event is an opportunity to safely come together as a community, enjoy some exercise, and learn about the healthcare system.

“This will be the first event we have hosted in a year and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to talk with people and share information,” Birnie said. “One of the strategic goals of the Foundation is to create awareness of the many programs and services available through Gunnison Valley Health. This is the first of many efforts we will be putting forth to support that goal.”

The event will feature eight information stations set up along the loop behind the Crested Butte Community School. Participants can ski, snowshoe, or walk the loop stopping at each station to learn a little more about the healthcare system. There will be fun activities, great take home information, and each station host will be available to answer questions and provide detailed information about the healthcare system.

At the end of the loop, there will be snacks, music, and everyone will receive a free GVH buff and backpack!

“You can get some exercise, get some knowledge, learn how to get involved, and have some fun,” said Gunnison Valley Health Foundation Coordinator Tammy Scott.

There is no registration required and people are encouraged to stop by at their convenience.
