Gunnison Valley Health Now Offering PCR COVID Testing for Asymptomatic Individuals

Beginning July 20, 2002, Gunnison Valley Health will offer a new COVID-19 PCR testing service designed specifically for people with no symptoms who need testing for travel, work or other non-medical reasons. The service is available Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at both the hospital and the Mountain Clinic. The cost of testing is $150 due at the time of service, Gunnison Valley Health will not bill any insurance.

To access testing:

  1. Visit www.gunnisonvalleyhealth.org/covid and complete the registration form.
  2. Collect your test kit from reception at the Gunnison Valley Health main entrance or at the Mountain Clinic. Payment is due prior to obtaining your test kit.
  3. Follow the self-swab instructions.
  4. Return the sample in a biohazard bag to reception at the Gunnison Valley Health main entrance or the Mountain Clinic the same day it is collected.
  5. Results will be available in the Gunnison Valley Health Patient Portal within 24 to 72 hours of testing.

If you are currently experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 you should contact your primary care provider, the Gunnison Valley Health Urgent Care Clinic or the Mountain Clinic to have your symptoms evaluated and receive appropriate testing and treatment.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Muscle or body aches
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
