Gunnison Valley Health Paramedics Captain Jill Adams Awarded Francis Mildred Roth Women in EMS Award

Gunnison Valley Health is pleased to announce that Paramedics Captain, Jill Adams, was awarded the Francis Mildred Roth Woman in EMS State Award at the 2022 Colorado EMS Awards Ceremony.

The Francis Mildred Roth Women in EMS Award was created to recognize Colorado women in EMS who serve their community through combined safety and prevention measures and education initiatives. Each year, the award is presented to an outstanding woman who has helped influence the history of EMS in Colorado.

Gunnison Valley Health CEO, Jason Amrich, expressed his gratitude for Adams and her support of both the community and the health system.

“We are so grateful to have such a kind and passionate leader such as Jill,” said Amrich. “She inspires her team and supports them to consistently learn and grow thereby elevating the level of care provided to the Gunnison Valley.”

Adams has served Colorado as a paramedic for over thirty-five years serving as a paramedic in Denver, Alamosa and Pueblo before calling Gunnison her home. Adams exemplifies leadership in everything she does and demonstrates a passion for her work, striving to teach the next generation of paramedics.

Adams was chosen as the winner based on the numerous recommendation letters submitted by colleagues throughout the Gunnison Valley. Each letter shared example after example of Jill’s strength as a leader and a paramedic.

“She’s amazingly calm and levelheaded in the most demanding and intense situations. I’m relieved because I know the best is there not only in her demeanor but, her patient care,” explained one letter. The letter goes on to say “she has given me confidence in the most trying situations and a smile that gets me through the stress. She is a paramedic who not only teaches classes but teaches us on scene. She leads by example; she instructs others without wasting any time; she has a gift.”

“I am honored to win this award,” said Adams. “I enjoy serving this community, and I am grateful for the kind words my peers wrote. I am truly honored.”
