Transportation For Seniors
Gunnison Valley Health Senior Transportation aims to help community members remain independent and promotes a high quality of life for the people it serves. The Senior Transportation bus is a FREE service that is financially supported by the RTA and strives to provide exceptional and timely service to all community members.
Service Facts:
- Gunnison Valley Health Senior Transportation is available to community members who are 55+ years of age or who are permanently disabled.
- Transportation is free for eligible community members.
- Transportation services is for local trips within 3 miles of Gunnison City limits (e.g. doctor appointments, errands, groceries, etc.).
- All rides must be scheduled AT LEAST 2 HOURS IN ADVANCE. In order to provide exceptional service to all community members, we appreciate as much advance notice as possible.
We depend on the cooperation of our riders to serve as many people as possible. This means that you may ride a little longer or get to your destination a little earlier to help other riders get to their respective destinations. We strive for shared rides. The Senior Transportation bus services not only offer rides to medical appointments but they are happy to give rides to and from the grocery store, the food pantry, local restaurants, shopping, social gatherings, and much more!
Services We Are Unable To Provide:
- WE DO NOT PROVIDE EMERGENCY TRANSPORTS. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING AN EMERGENCY CALL 911
- In the event of adverse weather of unsafe transportation conditions, we will cancel senior transportation for the day. You will be contacted if you have a scheduled trip.
- Rides outside of our regular service schedule.
- Any last-minute rides including hospital discharges. WE NEED AT LEAST 2 HOURS ADVANCED NOTICE TO SCHEDULE YOUR RIDE.
Serving the greater Gunnison area seven days a week, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule a ride call (970) 596-6700 at least two hours in advance.
Alternative Options
