Transport For Seniors

Gunnison Valley Health Senior Transportation aims to help community members remain independent and promotes a high quality of life for the people it serves. The Senior Transportation bus is a FREE service that is financially supported by the RTA and strives to provide exceptional and timely service to all community members.

Service Facts:

  • Gunnison Valley Health Senior Transportation is available to community members who are 55+ years of age.
  • Service is available to community members who are permanently disabled.
  • Our tax-funded program is available free of charge to community members.
  • We depend on the cooperation of our riders to serve as many people as possible. This means that you may ride a little longer or get to your destination a little earlier to help other riders get to their respective destinations. We strive for shared rides.
  • Transportation service is available to community members within the Gunnison City limits and up to 3 miles outside of the city limits.
  • Transportation services are available to the grocery store, local shopping, restaurants, entertainment events, and social gatherings as well as medical appointments and more.

The Senior Transportation bus services not only offer rides to medical appointments but they are happy to give rides to and from the grocery store, the food pantry, local restaurants, shopping, social gatherings, and much more! The bus will transport up to 3 miles outside of the Gunnison City Limits.

The Senior Transportation bus serves the greater Gunnison area Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule a ride call (970) 596-6700 at least two hours in advance.

Alternative Options

The Gunnison Valley RTA also offers free ADA accessible commuter bus service between Gunnison, Crested Butte, and Mt. Crested Butte. Click here for more information.
