Help us bring hope and healing to every life in Crested Butte!

Suicide rates are gorwing nationally and continues to touch our tight knit community. That is why we are partnering with the Center for mental Health to expand mental health services in Crested Butte.

Services that will be offered include:

  • Mental health counseling
  • Substance abuse counseling
  • Medical services such as medication management administered by a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

How you can help.

Gunnison Valley Health and the Center for Mental Health are contributing $60,000 to renovate three therapy rooms in the Ore Bucket Building to house desparately needed services. Help us reach our goal of $110,000.

It only takes a gift of $50 and you can make a difference too.

Our Vision

To be the number one choice of generous people who care about healthcare in the community.

Our Focus

We work to inspire our community to invest in the Gunnison Valley Health system and improve the health and wellness of our citizens.

A bear hug means so much...

When Jeremy was 3 years old he developed a hernia after a bike accident. His parents quickly brought him to the hospital at Gunnison Valley Health. Shortly after arriving Jeremy was taken into the OR and his hernia was successfully repaired. As he lay in a patient room later that evening a nurse walked in with a special gift; a little brown teddy bear. Jeremy embraced his new friend and the pain of the recent surgery was momentarily forgotten, he was able to be a 3-year-old again. That teddy bear remains on Jeremy's bed to this day. To him, it may be just another stuffed animal to play with. To his parents, it's an enduring reminder of the compassionate care their son received.

Stories like Jeremy's happen every day at Gunnison Valley Health. Whether it is investing in cutting edge technology, nursing education, or little brown teddy bears, the Gunnison Valley Health Foundation is committed to providing the support that make those stories possible.

Here at the GVH Foundation we are proud to partner with multiple organizations to further the health of our community. What we do wouldn't be possible without the vital support we receive from our partners.

The GVH Foundation organizes, implements, and lends support to multiple programs that benefit our patients and community. From a renovation of the GVH Family Birth Center to a new Senior Care Center, we assist with programs that serve people at every stage of life.

From a complete renovation of the Family Birth Center to a new ambulance for the Gunnison Valley Health EMS team, the Foundation has quite a list of accomplishments, and that's just from last year.
