Annual Report
A Message from the Executive Director
I am pleased to share 2019/20 Gunnison Valley Health Foundation Report
with all of our supporters and community members. I hope you will enjoy
reading about our many accomplishments and the new and innovative services
that are being offered in response to the needs of our community.
The past year has brought extraordinary challenges as well as new opportunities
to serve the Gunnison Valley in its time of need. Thanks to the outpouring
of support we have received from so many, we remain well-equipped to meet
the growing demands of this pandemic. We couldn’t face this current
health emergency without our entire community behind us.
Gunnison Valley Health’s deep commitment to collaboration has been
witnessed on multiple occasions as we brought together stakeholders to
deliver innovative solutions related to COVID-19. These collaborations
have resulted in guiding our local school system with safe sanitation
measures, development of testing protocols for Western Colorado University
and coordinating all COVID-19 testing and processing county wide.
Additionally, Gunnison Valley Health is a leader in the State of Colorado
and consistently has been called upon to share COVID-19 employee health
policies. A comprehensive operations plan was developed that made it possible
to be the first hospital in the state to resume outpatient elective surgeries.
Gunnison Valley Health is comprised of a dedicated and compassionate group
of health care professionals focused on delivering patient results and
committed to quality care. It is truly an honor to work for an organization
that leads with integrity and employs people who are dedicated to providing
extraordinary care to the members of our community.
With Gratitude,
Jenny Birnie, M.S.W.
Executive Director
